So You Want to Build a Home

At Carrington Homes, our highest priority is to exceed your expectations and make the home buying process simple, and enjoyable. After all, your home is the place you and your family will spend the most time together. When you meet with us, we will listen to you, find out what your dream home looks like, and develop a process to make building a new home easy for you. Below is how Carrington Homes makes your dream a reality:

Sales Staff
Your Carrington team will be there every step of the way, from choosing your location to making sure you are satisfied even after you move in. Our Sales Staff will help you choose the kind of home you want to live in and the location you would prefer. Once you’ve decided on a lot and floor plan, they will help you decide which options you want to include. They will draw up the contract, complete the pricing sheet, review the floor plan and elevation and explain all of the documents before you sign them. With the signing of the contract, you’ll receive a Carrington Homeowner’s Binder, including the Carrington warranty as well as phone numbers you can use to contact various team members before and after you move in to your new home. If you are using a lender to obtain a mortgage, they will need a copy of the contract. The Sales Staff and your lender will be work together to resolve any questions that arise. The closing location and date will be included in your contract.

Selections Specialist
Once you have signed the contract our Selections Specialist will contact you to set up an appointment to allow you to make interior and exterior selections for your new home. They will be there every step of the way, offering any guidance you may want, from color coordination to material selections that best fit your lifestyle.

Construction Superintendent
In addition to making interior and exterior selections for your new home at your appointment with our Selections Specialist, you will also meet with the Construction Superintendent to review your blueprints. After you have reviewed the blueprint and completed your selections, you can sit back and relax. As the weeks pass, you may want to visit your home site to see the progress. When the framing and wiring are completed, you will have the opportunity to meet with the Construction Superintendent to review the outlet, cable and phone jack locations in your new home. If you have included options such as surround sound or security system pre-wiring, those will also be reviewed at this meeting.

The President
Once your new home is completed, our quality control inspections and certification will take place. Jay Beard, the President of Carrington Homes will complete the final walk-through with you a few days prior to closing. The final step will be the closing, which takes place at the local title company.
